Plans

Well, I thought it was about time to update everyone on my life and plans!!  As of this current second I am still living with my parents, but in a couple days, I will be moving to Bluffton, IN.  I will be living with Steve & Joyce Fischer.  My plans are to work for a year or so, and then hopefully go to college at IPFW for music therapy.  As far as how I ended up there....is a VERY long story...:)  But I will try to give it a "brief" summary.

While I was still living in Haiti, I had started thinking about going back to college for early childhood education. Either online(if I went back down) or on campus(if I stayed in the states).  I had been doing a lot of research, but I couldn't really decide if that was what I really should be going for, if I really enjoyed it, or if I would really be that good at it.  I LOVE kids and working with them, but I am way more of a one-on-one person, or small group.  And wasn't really sure about a classroom setting.

During this time, I had also started going through the process to return to Haiti after the summer.  A couple weeks after I returned from Haiti, I had started losing my peace about going back. There was a lot of things going on behind-the-scenes, but I was just really wondering if that was really where I was suppose to go, and if now was really the time to go.  I also after awhile, decided to start researching other careers that I might like.  I knew that I needed to go back to college, but didn't know what for.  One day I decided to research careers in music.  Because it is one of my passions and talents that God has given me.  But didn't know if there was anything out there other than production of music, etc.  While I was researching I came across this Music Therapy and after I started looking into that, it seemed like something that I would really enjoy!

The next step was decided which college I wanted to go to.  Yah, talk about too many options!  See I really wanted to go to either Boston, MA to Berklee College of Music or go to Florida either Tallahassee or Miami.  But after considering the tuition of some, and other things, I decided that even though it was a dream of mine to go there.....I didn't feel like that was what I was suppose to do. So I had to let go of some of my dreams.  Anyway, long story short I ended up picking IPFW.  Honestly I don't really know how it really came about...but :)

So enough about me.....;)  Just had a wonderful weekend in Winthrop, MN as I got to witness and be a part of the wedding of Emily Steiner and John Frauhiger!!  Abby(a cousin of mine) and I went down Friday night and arrived at the Steiner's late....and stayed up even later talking.... :)  Saturday morning was pretty casual...John's family came over.  Then pictures were in the afternoon.  Unfortunately it was rainy in the morning and cold and windy all day.  So we took a lot of inside pictures...but did get some outside too!! Emily & John ended up taking some outside pics of just them early this morning too.  Today turned out to be a gorgeous day!! And the wedding went really well!!  I had a lot of fun meeting and getting to know some people from Bluffton area too!! Anyway....pics to come later...hopefully:)

I am now signing off as I can barely keep my eyes opened.... ;)

Summer

Well, I have been informed a few times this past weekend that I haven't posted in over two months!  So, I thought I should actually get back on and post about my last couple of crazy months.  Where do I even start??? I arrived back in the states June 11th and was back in the great, yet freezing, state of MN on the 12th.  The first weekend I was home I went to visit some friends in Sioux Falls, SD.  I went on two different big vacations. One was to Michigan(same place as last year) with 14 other girls(mostly from Princeville). The other one was to Kentucky with 5 girls from Bluffton......Hannah Rauch, Hannah Fiechter, Korrinn Kershner, Leah Gerber, and Lindsey Grube. I was able to attend the wedding of Alisha Gutwein & Brent Wagenbach in Francesville, IN. Also, spent some time in Illinois and a little time in Oakville.  Our family went Salmon fishing, and went to IL for a Knobloch get together.  Then between all of that I have been helping out on the farm...rock picking, baling hay, and stacking wood(after a big storm blew down atleast 12 of the trees in the grove!!!).  Here are pictures!!!
